Fall Art Intensive with Marie-Colette Dupont-Nivet

We are delighted to offer a beautiful 5 day art intensive experience this October with the gifted Marie-Colette Dupont Nivet. Marie-Colette is a native of Alsace and resident of Philadelphia for 40 years. Her specialty is decorative furniture painting in the historical tradition of using milk paint on wooden panels. Marie-Colette will guide guests through the process of making a decorative wooden box. She says, ” we will learn how to match wood with the pigments (graining), marbelizing, paint a small landscape or flowers, the different ways of glazing, varnishing, waxing your little panel, your frame or your box. Then you will become an artist  – you will find your style and colors and forget the world around you… ” No experience is necessary!

Naturally, over the course of this event we’ll have plenty of time to engage with the rich bounty of the harvest from the farm with delicious meals, hands-on French country style cooking classes and cap off the workshop on Sunday evening with a dinner inspired by Claude Monet’s Giverny!
