“What’s Good” Summer Edition with Chef Peter Hoffman & Beavertides Farm

After having such fun last fall with Peter and Dan and Marleen at Beavertides Farm, we are delighted to work with them again highlighting all the luscious summer produce of August. Peter Hoffman is the celebrated chef of his restaurants Savoy and Back Forty and author of “What’s Good: Memoir in Fourteen Ingredients”.  Peter was a pioneer of the farm to table movement, sourcing ingredients from the Union Square Green Market and his ethos of attention to the integrity of his ingredients and the community he is cooking for make him an inspiration and a kindred spirit to us at Husky Meadows. Friday night Peter will offer our welcome dinner as our Farmer, Brett Ellis joins to share his insights of his transition from chef to farmer and his experience in the Husky Meadows garden. Saturday morning guests will get to harvest in the garden with Brett for the evening’s dinner. Peter will be joined by Dan and Marleen from Beavertides Farm and they will share their experiences working together to bring forth a meal that accentuates the delicate flavors of their pasture raised lamb. On Sunday the journey continues with a field trip to Beavertides for a farm tour. Meet the sheep, goats, the family cow Georgie, as well as the bees in the apiary while getting an up close look at regenerative intensive grazing on their beautiful, idyllic farm.
